Iloilo: Senator Loren Legarda, chair of the Senate Committee on Cultural Communities and Committee on Climate Change, joins members of the Panay-Bukidnon cultural community from Brgy. Tacayan, Tapas, Capiz, during a break at the two-day Visayas Indigenous Peoples’ Assembly held at the Provincial Capitol of Iloilo in Iloilo City on September 23-24. In her impromptu speech delivered on the first day of the assembly, she said she would rally different departments of the government to ensure that their pro-poor programs benefit the IPs.
