VILLAR MEETS WITH COCONUT FARMER LEADERS: Sen. Cynthia Villar, chair of the Committee on Agriculture and Food, assured leaders of the Kilusang Magniniyog (KM71) that the bill creating the coconut levy trust fund remains a legislative priority. In a meeting with the leaders at her Senate office, Villar said a better version of the bill provides for safeguards that will make sure the coco levy fund will directly benefit the 3.5 million coconut farmers and their beneficiaries for generations to come.
