Villanueva on Ombudsman’s budget: Sen. Joel Villanueva, during the deliberation of the Committee on Finance on the proposed 2021 budget of the Office of the Ombudsman, September 14, 2020, expresses confusion over the decision of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to slash the proposed budget of the agency despite its good performance. Villanueva meanwhile assured the Ombudsman that he will help the agency on its budget proposal. “Since our time in Congress as CIBAC party-list representative we have been monitoring the budget of Ombudsman and we see to it that we could be of help in anyway,” he said.
