Continuing support to higher education: Finance Committee chairman Sen. Sonny Angara assures Monday, September 21, 2020, that the Senate will tackle in great detail the items for the higher education sector in the 2021 proposed national budget. “The stakeholders know that the Senate has always been sympathetic to the sector,” Angara said in the virtual hearing conducted by the Finance Subcommittee D. Angara mentioned that in the 2020 national budget, the Senate increased by over P10 billion the allocations to the state universities and colleges (SUCS), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), University of the Philippines (UP) and Philippine General Hospital (PGH).
