More bandwidth wholesalers: Sen. Win Gatchalian asks provincial telecommunications companies if the entry of more wholesale bandwidth providers can help lower the cost of internet subscription and improve speed in their areas. Gatchalian made the inquiry after learning from two provincial telecommunication companies that they can only provide internet speed ranging from 2Mbps to 20Mbps to their subscribers due to limited and high cost of bandwidth in their areas. “So the key is the entry of more wholesalers to offer bandwidth?” Gatchalian asked during the virtual hearing of the Committee on Public Services, Wednesday, September 23. 2020.
