Proposed 2021 budgets of COMELEC, PHLPost: Sen. Risa Hontiveros presides over the Finance Subcommittee H virtual hearing Thursday, October 22, 2020 on the proposed 2021 budgets of the Commission on Elections and the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost). The Department of Budget and Management has approved the P14.565 billion budget of the Comelec for next year out of the agency’s proposed budget of P30.673 billion. The PHLPost budget for 2021 is pegged at P3.8 billion. Hontiveros, appreciating the prompt submission of the PHLPost proposed budget, said this will help the panel understand how the agency operates especially in this time of pandemic. “Our PHLPost employees, especially the mail carriers who are also on the frontlines, continue to do their jobs, despite the risk of contracting the virus.
