Augment Fund to LGUs Hit by Typhoon: Sen. Panfilo Lacson pushes for an increase in the budget for the assistance to local government funds- local government support fund (ALGU-LGSF) during the hybrid plenary deliberation on the proposed 2021 budget, Monday, November 16, 2020. Lacson said since the National Expenditure Program was prepared before the onslaught of typhoons Quinta, Rolly and Ulysses, it would be wise and practical to make adjustments by augmenting the ALGU-LGSF appropriations especially for those areas hardest hit by the said typhoons.” In that way, if we augment the appropriations for local government units especially those hit by the typhoons, then they could very well rehabilitate and recover, making use of local manpower. It could spur their local economy by increasing labor and the services as well, including infrastructure materials,” Lacson said. (Screen grab/ Senate PRIB)
