SP Leads Senate Inquiry on Vaccine Program: Senate President Vicente Sotto III presides over the continuation of the Committee of the Whole inquiry into government’s COVID-19 vaccination program, Friday, January 15, 2021. Sotto said lingering questions on the issues of Sinovac as a cheaper vaccine option and the tripartite agreement involving local government units and private companies need to be further clarified. “And on the non-disclosure agreement, or confidentiality disclosure agreement relative to the purchase of vaccines, why is it necessary? What specific information are covered by this agreement? Is it more important than the right of the people to be informed? We hope these issues and more will be resolved in this hearing. For those who are asking the reason for the Senate hearing, aside from the resolutions filed, the people want to know. It’s as simple as that,” Sotto said. (Henzberg Austria/ Senate PRIB)
