Drilon calls for suspension of Motor Vehicle Inspection System: Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon warns transportation officials they might be violating the law for allowing the private sector to inspect motor vehicles as a pre-requisite for the issuance of vehicle registration by the Land Transportation Office (LTO). In calling for the immediate suspension of the Motor Vehicle Inspection System, Drilon, during the virtual hearing of the Committee on Public Services Tuesday, February 9, 2021, said: “It is in fact contrary to law what the LTO and the Department of Transportation are doing. Lack of legal basis is a basis for suspending it in the meantime,” Drilon said. (Screen grab/Senate PRIB)
