Blue Ribbon hearing on motorcycle crimes: Sen. Richard Gordon, chairman of the Blue Ribbon Committee, presides over the continuation of the virtual hearing on the alleged misfeasance, malfeasance, and nonfeasance in the implementation of Republic Act No. 11235 or the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act Monday, February 15, 2021. Gordon presented news clippings and video footages, collated by his staff, on killings of individuals by motorcycle-riding perpetrators since the start of the year, showing 59 attempts with 50 deaths on almost daily occurrences. Gordon asked the Philippine National Police to submit to his office a report on the number of incidents involving riding-in-tandem, noting that RA 11235 has been enacted into law almost two years ago.
