Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship hearing: Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, presides over the virtual hearing of the Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship on a wide-ranging issues: prohibition of BPA, a chemical to make plastic containers more resilient, in baby food products (Senate Bill No.1320); protection of employers from lawsuit and claims from their employees who may contract COVID-19 in the workplace or in the performance of their work (SBN 1515); and, a moratorium on the payment of rental of residential units for the entire duration of a national or local state of calamity or emergency. The committee also discussed SBNos. 1916 and 1954 or an Act to Protect Filipinos from the Harmful Effects of Trans-Fatty Acids, SBNos. 309 and 1760 or an Act Establishing the Drug Price Regulatory Board to Regulate the Prices of Drugs and Medicines; and SBN 632 or an Act Modernizing the Warehouse Receipts Law, among others.
