Immunity from liability: Sen. Panfilo Lacson, during a hybrid plenary session, Wednesday, February 17, 2021, pushes for the inclusion of reckless imprudence as among the exemptions in the immunity from liability provision under Senate Bill No. 2057 or An Act Expediting the Procurement and Administration of Vaccines for the Protection Against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19). Under the measure, covered persons or those who are involved in administering the COVID-19 vaccine are exempted from suit unless the liability arises from willful misconduct. “I’m thinking along this line, maybe we can include reckless imprudence?” Lacson asked Sen. Sonny Angara, sponsor of the measure. Angara said the committee will look into the possibility of including it in the bill.(Joseph Vidal/Senate PRIB)
