Proper use of vaccines sought: Considering the short supply of COVID-19 vaccines, Sen. Risa Hontiveros seeks the inclusion of the phrase “management and utilization” in Section 4 (Procurement of COVID-19 Vaccines by Local Government Units) of Senate Bill No. (SBN) 2057 or the COVID-19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021. “Mr. President, this is not a simple donation. It is a public good, of which there is scarcity,” Hontiveros said during the hybrid plenary session Tuesday, February 23, 2021. The amendment would read: “Provided, however, that LGUs may directly accept donations of FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccines, subject to the reportorial requirements and management and utilization guidelines of the DOH and the NTF.” (Screen grab/Senate PRIB)
