PRC allowed to procure vaccines: Sen. Richard Gordon introduces two amendments to Senate Bill No. (SBN) 2057 or the COVID-19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021 Tuesday, February 23, 2021. The amendments would allow: 1.) the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to procure COVID-19 vaccines for “individuals consistent with the priority list set” and 2.) the health department, National Task Force and private entities procuring COVID-19 vaccines to partner with the PRC in the administration, distribution, and inoculation of the vaccines. Included in the amendments is to allow PRC to donate one vaccine to the vulnerable and indigent for every vaccine bought. “This is really just consistent with the act of the Red Cross that we involve ourselves with inoculation,” Gordon said. The amendments were accepted by Sen. Sonny Angara, chairman of the Committee on Finance and sponsor of SBN 2057. (Screen grab/Senate PRIB)
