Easing up administrative adoption process: Sen. Pia Cayetano points out that even the administrative adoption process – from the agency social worker to the supervising social worker, to the division chief, the assistant regional director, and regional director until it reaches the Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development reviewing the same adoption documents – is even more repetitive that adds to the delay of the process. “The regional director and all those social workers I mentioned are involved in all the catastrophes and calamities of the country. So, during this time of COVID, the social workers who are working for children who need to be placed either for adoption or foster care to deliver SAP (Social Amelioration Program) were pulled out.
