No face-to-face classes in NCR?: Sen. Nancy Binay suggests the non-inclusion of the National Capital Region (NCR) and Quezon province where COVID-19 cases are relatively high, in the Department of Education’s (DepEd) pilot testing program of face-to-face classes. “To make the pilot face-to-face resumption of classes more acceptable, perhaps we should not include NCR and the Quezon province. Even if a modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) has been declared in these areas, not because the COVID-19 problem is not there but because we need to reopen our economy,” Binay said during the continuation of a hybrid hearing on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to the country’s basic education system Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Binay asked DepEd officials to choose areas with zero or close to zero COVID cases. (Screen grab/Senate PRIB)
