Drilon wants OVP budget restored: Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon moves to restore the proposed 2022 budget of the Office of the Vice President to P900 million during a virtual hearing on the agency’s budget Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Vice President Leni Robredo said the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) allotted P713.14 million for OVP’s 2022 budget, representing a 21 percent decrease from her office’s 2021 budget of P900 million. “We note that the National Expenditure Program (NEP) reduced by P223 million the OVP budget as compared to last year. I would like to think that there would be no strong objection from any member of the Senate on the restoration of this P223 million which was principally used for projects with the very meager budget provided for the OVP,” Drilon said.
