Go sponsors bills upgrading, establishing hospitals: Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go emphasizes the need to improve the country’s health delivery systems, especially in the countryside. Go made the statement as he sponsored during the hybrid plenary session, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 several measures seeking to upgrade existing Department of Health-run hospitals and to establish new ones. In his sponsorship speech, Go acknowledged the lack of government-run hospital facilities in different provinces, resulting in the overcrowding of patients during the pandemic. “We’ve seen during this pandemic the importance of investing in our health care. The reason why we are having such a hard time during this pandemic is that we neglected to give importance to upgrade and establish hospitals over the past decades,” Go said. (Screen grab/Senate PRIB)
