Restore Bonifacio's dignity, honor: Sen. Francis "Tol" Tolentino joins his colleagues in calling for the conservation and preservation of historical landmarks in the Philippines. As Sen. Joseph Victor "JV" Ejercito slammed the relocation of national hero monuments in San Juan City, including a statue of Filipino patriot Andres Bonifacio, Tolentino recalled vehemently opposing the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in its plan to move a monument of Dom Justo Takayama, a beatified Japanese Catholic martyr who served and died in Manila. "If our colleague (Ejercito) wishes to revert the statues to their original position, I think it can, it should, and it must be done to restore the glory, honor and dignity of the honorable Andres Bonifacio," Tolentino said in mixed Filipino and English on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
