A significant day for Philippine journalism and freedom: Sen. Robinhood C. Padilla takes to the Senate plenary on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 to pay tribute to Filipino propagandist Marcelo H. Del Pilar on his 173rd birth anniversary. Padilla also reminded Filipinos of the observance of the "National Press Freedom Day" in honor of Del Pilar, who is known as father of Philippine journalism. The senator likewise remembered the fallen heroes in the Battle of Pinaglabanan, which took place in San Juan City on August 30, 1896. "This day is indeed very important," Padilla said in Filipino.
