Hontiveros introduces amendments to Agri’l Economic Sabotage Bill: Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros expresses support for Senate Bill No. 2432 or the Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act Tuesday, September 26, 2023, and the efforts to stamp out smuggling, hoarding, profiteering and cartels, especially for agricultural commodities. “These wicked acts hurt our most vulnerable farmers and consumers who rely on the availability and price stability” of agricultural products, Hontiveros said. “We wish to introduce only a few amendments to ensure that the evils sought to be eliminated are better targeted, that all contributory offenses by public officers are covered, and that confiscated goods are given directly to those most in need,” she added.
