Warrant of arrest vs Mayor Guo: Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada moves for the issuance of a warrant of arrest against suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo during a public hearing conducted by the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Estrada said he has read the letter of explanation from Guo and found it unacceptable. According to Estrada, Guo had claimed she sought professional help but the medical professionals she consulted refused to issue her a medical certificate for fear that they might also experience humiliation and ridicule as she did. “I suggest that she be attended by a government doctor so we can know the whole truth. I think this letter of explanation is totally unacceptable. Therefore, I would like to move that we issue a warrant of arrest against Mayor Guo for her to attend the next hearing, if there is one,” Estrada said. Sen.
