Senate Medal of Excellence for Carlos Yulo: Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” F. Zubiri sponsors a resolution conferring the Senate Medal of Excellence to Carlos Yulo, an athlete who bagged two gold medals in the recently concluded 2024 Paris Olympics. During Wednesday’s plenary session, August 14, 2024, Zubiri said that "it has been a treat to watch Yulo’s growth as an athlete and his steady rise toward becoming the most accomplished gymnast in the country." “These, more than any innate skill, are the markers of a true athlete—and these are the qualities that make him an exemplar of the Filipino spirit and a worthy recipient of the Senate Medal of Excellence,” Zubiri said. “With better government support, I am hopeful that Yulo’s double-gold win is just the start of a long spring for Filipino athletes excelling on the world stage. And we hope to see many more athletes here in the Senate receiving the Senate Medal of Excellence for their invaluable contributions to the country,” he added.
