Senate Secures Additional Venues at PICC to Boost Legislative Efficiency: Senate President Francis “Chiz” G. Escudero announced that the Senate has successfully secured an agreement with the management of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) to utilize five function rooms. These additional venues will enable the upper chamber to conduct a greater number of committee hearings more efficiently.

“We continue to look for ways to make the Senate more effective in performing our duties and providing services to our citizens,” Escudero said.

“We need additional venues for conducting committee hearings, which are sometimes delayed due to the lack of meeting rooms in the current Senate building,” he added.

This strategic move is expected to significantly expedite legislative processes by providing supplementary venues for hearings outside the main Senate complex.

Named after prominent figures in Philippine history—Melchora Aquino, Emilio Aguinaldo, Apolinario Mabini, Andres Bonifacio, and Emilio Jacinto—these rooms will not only serve the Senate but also the Commission on Appointments.

The agreement for the use of these rooms extends until December 2025, indicating a long-term commitment to improving the efficiency of the country's legislative functions. This development marks a proactive step towards accommodating the growing needs of the Senate's legislative agenda and is a testament to the institution's dedication to governance and public service.
