Villanueva expresses disappointment: Sen. Joel Villanueva expresses disappointment over the continued evasiveness of Shiela Guo to answer questions during the hearing of the Committee on Justice and Human Rights on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Villanueva asked Shiela Guo to reveal the persons who helped them escaped from the Philippines going to Malaysia and Indonesia. “Who else helped you in the government, whether it's the staff of a government agency, whether it's a politician, whether it's a mayor, congressman or whoever, tell us because we don't believe the story you're selling,” Villanueva asked. “I will assure you, Shiela, if you do not tell the truth, we and the entire Senate will assure you that you will be severely punished. I am so disappointed that Ms. Shiela still does not want to tell the truth. You can't get out of the Philippines just like that without anyone helping you,” he added.
