Senate to pass proposed 2025 budget by mid-December: Senate President Francis “Chiz” G. Escudero says the chamber is on track to pass the proposed 2025 budget by mid-December at the latest. During a media briefing Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Escudero said the House of Representatives would transmit the General Appropriations Bill on October 25 while the Senate could finish budget deliberations by the different committees while Congress is on recess this month. The Senate chief said he expects the Finance Committee chaired by Sen. Grace Poe to file its committee report when session resumes on November 4. “We expect the budget to be approved within the, at the latest, the 2nd week of December... the earliest 1st week December,” Escudero said. The House of Representatives approved last week the proposed P6.352-trillion national budget for next year. (Senate Public Relations and Information Bureau) |
