Approaching the issue with an open mind: Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada commended the Blue Ribbon Subcommittee for its immediate response to investigate the Philippine war on drugs, as he urged all parties concerned to maintain an unbiased perspective on the issue.

Speaking during the hearing on Monday, October 28, 2024, Estrada noted that the war on drugs campaign, launched to address the drug problem has sparked much debate over its methods and consequences.

He added that while the initiative has undoubtedly raised public awareness of the dangers of illegal drugs, fostering greater vigilance among communities, it is crucial to address drug-related crimes while upholding the human rights and dignity of all individuals involved.
