UNTV Cup trophy not just a victory for the Senate: Majority Leader Francis “Tol” Tolentino commends the Senate Sentinels basketball team for winning the championship trophy in the recent UNTV Cup Executive Face-Off. The Senate Sentinels is composed of athlete-legislators like Senators Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, Joel Villanueva, former senator now Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, Senate officials and employees. “This is not just a victory for the Senate. It is not just a recognition for all our legislator-athletes. But it is the testament to the spirit, dedication and teamwork that define this team, and indeed all of us in the Senate,” the majority leader said. He emphasized that the legislator-athletes combine legislative and athletic works with gruelling practice and relentless pressure during the competition. ”But as they just do in the legislative halls, they meet every challenge with resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment to excellence,” he added.
