Senate reunion dinner: Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero reflects on the historical significance of the National Museum as the Senate’s longest home during the traditional Senate Reunion Dinner held in commemoration of the chamber’s 108th anniversary Wednesday, November 6, 2024. For 42 years, Escudero said the Senate convened within the Museum’s walls adorned with the artworks of Botong Francisco’s mural depicting the history of the Philippines. He said the mural served as the backdrop where lawmakers debated and drafted numerous laws that shaped the country’s future. According to Escudero, the Senate had made significant strides such as the increase of women senators in the chamber and continues to be forward-looking, striving to represent and advocate for the diverse population it serves.
