Sen. Padilla: Prioritize Key Legislation, Not Impeachment: Sen. Robinhood Padilla appeals to his colleagues to set aside political noise brought about by the impeachment of Vice President Sara Z. Duterte and attend to the needs of the people which, he said, is the mandate of legislators. Padilla said the cries of the ordinary Filipino should not be drown out by the noise of politics. “While we debate impeachment, there are fellow Filipinos waiting for medicines, salary increases and hope. Each day of delay, someone loses hope. Every lack of focus causes a Filipino to lose trust. These are just a few of the needs that have been delayed due to the impeachment issue,” the senator said Tuesday, June 10, 2025. “This is my call as your companion. Let's support the proposals that truly have value. It is time to listen to the people. I believe that the advancement of impeachment will not be beneficial for our country. Such a step not only leads to further division among our people but also hinders the continuous performance of our legislative duties, especially in the Senate,” Padilla said in Filipino.
