Senator Manny Villar, President of the Nacionalista Party, extends his felicitous and festive greetings to the Chinese, especially Filipino-Chinese, all over the country and around the world as they celebrate today the onset of the Chinese Lunar New Year, the Year of the Fire Dog.

Kung hei fat choy! I join the Chinese in ushering it with much fervor and festivity the Year of the Fire Dog. May we all continue our positive or optimistic attitude of welcoming with renewed confidence each year, with fresh hopes of a better year ahead for us, our families and our country.

Let us not look back to the miseries and misfortunes that the Wooden Rooster brought forth. But instead look forward to the positive promises and prospects that the Fire Dog will bestow upon us. May this year be truly be peaceful and prosperous for all of us.
