Press statement of Sen. Jamby Madrigal

If Mrs. Arroyo is sincere in her intentions of amending and reviewing the Mining Act as she committed to some Bishops, I challenge her to suspend all Mineral Production Sharing Agreements (MPSAs) pending review of the Mining Act. Also, I ask her not to issue anymore MPSAs. The interest of the environment and our people should be the promordial interest of Mrs. Arroyo.

This may be another classic case of Mrs. Arroyos well worn out tactic of one step forward and one step backward. Sincerity in words must be matched with concrete actions.
