Mrs. Arroyos statements before the Philippine National Police (PNP) is arrogance of power. Ito ay malinaw na pang-aabuso sa kapangyarihan. Ang pagiging pulis o sundalo ay hindi nangangahulugan na pwede na silang busalan. Mrs. Arroyo is not the state. The men and women of the PNP and the AFP do not lose their basic human right to freedom of expression. It is a personal right. Mrs. Arroyo should not confuse blind loyalty to her with the military and polices loyalty to the state. Under the 1987 constitution, the loyalty of the members of the armed forces and the police is to the constitution.
