VILLAR SHOOTS HOOPS WITH CONGRESSMEN AND PARISH PRIESTS

Nacionalista President and Senate President Manny Villar will deliver an opening speech and lead the ceremonial toss-up in the basketball tournament between congressmen and parish priests in a friendly game at 3pm at the Sports Center of the Alabang Metropolis tomorrow (Saturday, September 16).

This will be the inaugural event in the newly opened Sports Center of the mall, located on its Third Level. Entrance to the tournament is free of charge.

It would be a real treat for the public to see the legislators outside the formal environment of the House of Representatives, likewise with the priests outside the hallowed halls of their parish churches. It would be interesting also to see who would win the game, says Villar.

Adds Villar, The basketball game will give the congressmen a breather from the heated political debates in the Lower House especially since their team is composed of opposition and administration congressmen. For sure, playing against the parish priests, it will be a fair game.

The Congressmen Team is composed of Congressmen Alan Peter Cayetano, Gilbert Remulla, Timmy Chipeco, Sonny Angara, Joel Villanueva, Ace Barbers, Abet Garcia, Baham Mitra, Bem Noel, Miles Roces, Boy Umali and Dudut Jaworski.

The Parish Priests Team from the Diocese of Paraaque is composed of Revs. Jo-lan Dero, Leonil Edrezo, Jude Rebaldo, Dennis Ilogon, Allan Lapay, Jerry Habunal, Abet Caballero, Nelson Bisco, Dan Paraiso, Monchit Garcia, Jorge de Chavez, Fidel Fabile, Engel Bagnas, Henry Tagalog, James Andes and Vincent Cadelina.
