Files resolutions commending the 29-man team for their victory

Senate President Manny Villar says that the triumph of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Rowing Team in the recently concluded SAVA Spring International 2006 Dragon Boat Races in Singapore serves as good news amidst reports of the havoc wreaked by super-typhoon Milenyo all over the country.

After the disaster that we have experienced, its good to hear about some positive news like the victory of the 29 PNP rowers led by Superintendent Dennis Agustin and Chief Inspector Gonzalo Villamor. Villar filed a Senate Resolution today to formally congratulate and commend the PNP Rowing Team in their feat in the boat race at the Bedok Reservoir in Singapore.

We should really encourage our police force to engage in sports and other athletic activities, not only as a hobby or pastime but as a competitive endeavor as well. The PNP rowing team serves as a good example to other sports buff in the force, adds Villar.
