ON THE SUBIC RAPE CASE VERDICT

We should bow to the decision of the court, which weighed the evidences put forward by the contending parties and rendered a verdict based on the applicable rules on evidence. Let us respect the decision of the court, for once again the rule of law has triumphed.

The decision acquitted the Philippines from charges that it cannot render fair and impartial trial.

May this decision bring closure to Nicoles travails.

We hope that as the case goes on appeal, it would be acted upon with the same brand of impartiality and insulated from political and public opinion pressures.
