KIKO CELEBRATES THE YEAR OF THE BOAR
WITH FIL-CHINESE COMMUNITY

Accompanied by children Frankie and Miel, Senator Kiko Pangilinan today visited the Binondo Church by Mr. Narciso Tan with the Kagawad, Barangay Captains and members of the business community from the 3rd district of Manila. Senator Kiko came to Ongpin to celebrate and express his solidarity with the Filipino-Chinese community as they celebrate the New Year, the year of the boar.

"I come to Binondo every year to break bread and express my solidarity with our Filipino-Chinese community. Their history and traditions have contributed to the diversity of the Philippines. The Filipino-Chinese community has not only shared with us their fantastic cuisine, arts and beliefs, they have also imparted with us the values of hard work and perseverance which are essential in business in particular and life in general," Kiko said.

"We look forward to coming to Binondo every year and look forward to the dragon dance and the great food. It's also a very personal visit for me as I have Chinese blood from my father's side. Seventy percent of our population have Chinese lineage. That's why I want my children to know part of their root. Hence the need to be exposed to the Chinese culture," Kiko ended.
