KIKO LAUDS TEACHERS FOR CONDUCT OF ELECTIONS

Independent reelectionist Kiko Pangilinan today lauded public school teachers for the conduct of the recent senatorial and local elections.

"We know how tremendously taxing the conduct of election is and we have to credit our public school teachers for once again making do with their meager resources to deliver the voice of our electorate," Kiko said.

"We urge the COMELEC to give immediate attention to our teachers' compensation for carrying out the elections. In the past, we have seen how our teachers have experienced difficulty in collecting their compensation even after the polls are over, and we do not wish to see this happen again this time," Kiko added.

"We know how this election has raised fears in and out of the country due to the use of guns, goons and gold, and our teachers, being in the frontline of this election, have risked even their lives to deliver the results of the polls. The least that we can do is to ensure that they are well-remunerated and give them the hope of a more peaceful, more transparent election in the next years," Kiko ended.
