ROXAS ON AFFORDABLE DRUGS:
IT IS TIME TO TEAM UP TO GET THE JOB DONE

Sen. Mar Roxas today called on all political leaders and stakeholders to close ranks and team up to get a law on affordable medicines passed soonest.

"People die everyday for lack of the right and timely drug treatment; let us work on this challenge to save Filipino lives instead of drive the endless politicking that had the bill fall through the cracks the first time around."

"This issue is about the people, not about me or my political career."

"I am asking my detractors to shake off the political intrigue and acrimony and enter an earnest and transparent dialogue with all stakeholders so we can serve the people's health and let them live."

"The proper thing to do is to thresh out all arguments and differences among the proponents in open consultation with experts and genuine constituencies yearning for a good law that can stand the test of viability in the free market."

"We must also be guided by the principle of inter-parliamentary courtesy and inspired by common goals."

"People's right to affordable quality medicines has been my enduring crusade, which I will pursue regardless of the implications on my political future."
