KIKO TO PNP: PUT UP OR SHUT UP IF YOU CANNOT PROVE JOURNALIST'S LINK TO FAELDON

Senate Majority Leader and Independent senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan today criticized the Philippine National Police (PNP) for floating unsubstantiated information regarding a journalist who allegedly facilitated the escape of Marine Capt. Nicanor Faeldon during the Manila Peninsula siege.

Police authorities earlier claimed Faeldon was able to sneak out of the Manila Peninsula through the help of a journalist.

Kiko explains that this scenario being painted by the police is highly unlikely, considering that battalions of law enforcers were able to contain and secure the area. But assuming for the sake of argument they are correct then the proper thing to do is file the necessary charges. It is the height of unprofessional behavior when those in the national police force resort to innuendo and the sowing of intrigue to present their case to the public.
