US THINK TANK ON CORRUPTION BRINGS ARROYO GOVT CORRUPTION TO WORLD STAGE --KIKO

More international reports exposing the corruption situation in the country, Senate Majority Leader and Independent senator Kiko Pangilinan today reiterated his call for accountability in government.

"It was just last week when the Philippines was ranked no.1 most corrupt in Asia, and now the same assessment comes from the US. Why are we not surprised by their findings?" Kiko asked.

"Corruption among the highest officials of the land has already been exposed when Neri testified on Abalos' bribery attempt to bribe. There has been international recognition of the rampant graft and corruption in government which weakens the confidence of investors in the country. The so-called economic gains are erased little by little because of the image that our officials not serious in curbing corruption at the highest level of our government," Kiko added.

"The country will continue to lose and we cannot expect international opinion to be reversed if we do not take decisive measures against corruption. If there is truly nothing to hide, the Palace should initiate the search for a credible conclusion to the controversies that hound it," Kiko ended.
