KIKO URGES PNP TO SPEED UP CES DRILON, CREW SEARCH

Senate Majority Leader and former broadcaster Kiko Pangilinan today called on the PNP to "leave no stone unturned" in the search for former colleague ABS-CBN anchor Ces Drilon and her crew who have gone missing in Jolo, Sulu.

"The police must act swiftly to ensure the safe return of these members of our media the soonest time possible. Our forces must aggressively search for the abductees' whereabouts and be alert in executing rescue operations," Kiko said.

Drilon and her team flew to Mindanao on Saturday on the invitation of Mindanao State University Professor Octavio Dinampo. They were abducted Sunday in Maimbung in Jolo by armed men under Albader Parad, a leader of the rebel group Abu Sayyaf.

"The dissapearance of Ces and her crew is a dire manifestation of the dangers facing our journalists in the practice of their profession. We need to focus on strengthening the respect and fear of the rule of law by punishing more and punishing fast. The handling of this case by our authorities will be crucial, and we demand the immediate resolution of this abduction," Kiko ended.
