Gordon supports revolutionary economic growth for Cavite

During Independence Day rights, Senator Richard Gordon hailed Cavite's emergence as a Mega Province as it continues on a path of 'revolutionary economic growth.'

As the Guest of Honor of the commemoration program at the Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine, Gordon committed his support for the conversion of Sangley Point into an international container port.

"Turning Sangley into an international container port, together with the opening of the new coastal highway, will turn Cavite into a Mega Province. It will contribute in a big way to the creation of not only jobs but also the heightening of all manner of economic activity, vastly increasing the income earning opportunities of Kabitenyos," said Gordon, who credited Cavite Governor Ayong Maliksi for the spurring economic growth in his province.

Gordon likewise said he supported moves that would give Cavite additional representation in the Lower House, with the creation of 4 Congressional districts.

"Because of his rapid growth, Cavite is now bigger than Pangasinan and in achieving this, the people of Cavite must be given adequate representation in Congress that will enable them to steer the course of their province even better," said Gordon.

In his speech, Gordon stressed that the leadership and people of Cavite had remained true to the vision of Emilio Aguinaldo for a prosperous country.

"The people of Cavite, having achieved a significant measure of prosperity by being true to their heritage of heroism and courage, are the best proof that Aguinaldo's glorious fight for Independence had succeeded and continues to succeed even after a hundred ten years," said Gordon.
