LATEST HKPH-ARC SURVEY:
Villar, Senate get high positive ratings anew

Senate President Manny Villar welcomed the results of the latest HKPH Public Opinion and Research Center in partnership with Hong Kong-based Asia Research Center showing him and the Senate rating positively among Filipinos.

The survey, conducted from July 25 to 30 with 1,200 respondents, gave the leaders of the two chambers of Congress high positive ratings.

Villar posted a performance rating of +57 while House Speaker Prospero Nograles got +53 percent.

Explaining the results, the survey firm said, "Senate President Villar, his overall job performance rating, his handling of the Senate, and his rating as honest and trustworthy also help put these data in perspective."

Meanwhile, the Senate posted a +55 job performance rating while the House of Representatives got +52 percent.

The Senate President's latest performance rating follows the high satisfaction ratings of +52 which he received in the Social Weather Station (SWS) survey conducted from June 27 to 30, and the +57 rating he got in Rep. Danilo Suarez-commissioned SWS survey conducted from July 13 to 17.

"It is with deep appreciation that we welcome the results of this survey which run consistently with SWS results," Villar said, "Our goal is to work hard, go the extra mile, and do the best we can for public welfare. This show of public support encourages us to keep on doing more."

"Likewise, we give due credit to our senators who have demonstrated exemplary performance in making the institution most relevant and trustworthy," the Senate President, who is also president of the Nacionalista party, said.

Under Villar's leadership, the Senate has passed at least 36 bills during the First Regular Session of the 14th Congress which included Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council priority measures.
