KIKO ON ESPERON'S STATEMENT ON
CHACHA: "OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY!"

Senate Majority Leader and Independent senator Kiko Pangilinan today scored Presidential Security Adviser Secretary Hermogenes Esperon, Jr. for saying that Charter Change will happen within PGMA's term to pave the way for the GRP-MILF Peace Pact.

"Esperon's statement on ChaCha and the highly suspect moves of government negotiators only expose how our of touch with reality our government is when it comes to the fate of this controversial peace pact," said Kiko.

The GRP-MILF Peace Pact earned criticism after some of its provisions were said to be unconstitutional. Another contentious issue is the need for Charter Change to lay the legal framework for the said agreement.

"If they think that the people will readily swallow the garbage they will serve then they are wrong. Ignoring the sentiments of our citizens in the said peace pact will be the very reason this endeavor will not prosper," warned Kiko.

"We already saw what can happen when we railroad ChaCha. The people are vigilant, and they will not take a matter this serious sitting down. If government is really sincere in bringing peace allover the Philippines then it must not put first selfish interests before the welfare of this nation," Kiko ended.
