NO DECLARATION IN DIGOS

This was the clarification made by Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero saying he was just being asked a hypothetical question during a press briefing in which he answered in the same manner.

"I am not yet qualified. This is my consistent answer to anyone, members of the media or anybody I meet, who me if I am running for the presidency in 2010,"said Escudero.

Citing the Constitution, he stated five qualifications a presidential contender should have, these are: One should be a natural born Filipino citizen, a registered voter, resident of the Philippines for 10 years, able to read and write and 40 years of age on the day of the elections which is May 10, 2010.

"Given the lack of age requirement, I cannot categorically state that I am running. There is a proper time for such declaration. While others may have openly declared their intention to run, I respect their right to do so and wish them the best.

"So when am I running? You can ask me again after my birthday on October 10, 2009," he stated.
