SENATOR LOREN LEGARDA URGES MOTORISTS TO USE E10 FUEL

"If you have access to E10 fuel, I strongly urge you to use E10 fuel." Senator Legarda, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Climate Change said as RA9367, the Biofuels Act, mandates that starting today, February 6, all oil companies operating in the Philippines should commit that at least five percent bioethanol shall comprise the annual total volume of gasoline which they sell and distribute.

"Lahat tayo makikinabang sa paggamit ng E10, na masmalinis masunog kaya't maskaunti ang nilalabas na pollutants. Bukod ditto, masgaganda pa ang takbo ng makina ng mga sasakyan natin at dahil ditto ay makakamenos tayo sa maintenance ng ating mga sasakyan." The Senator said as she lauds efforts of the oil companies to expand rhe production and marketing of gasoline with a 10% bioethanol blend nationwide.

The Car Manufacturers Association of the Philippines says that E10 can be used by all cars with fuel injected engines. Older car models, specially those with carbureted engines should consult accredited service shops to determine if their engines can run on the cleaner fuel.
