ROXAS SEES UNITY AMONG REFORM GROUPS

Liberal President Senator Mar Roxas today said the invitation extended him by Kaya Natin! Movement bodes well for unity and eventual victory for the pro-reform groups in the country in the 2010 elections.

"Nagtitiwala ako na dahil tunay at taos-puso ang ating pagkakaisa sa adhikain ng pagbabago, makakamit natin sa 2010 ang ating minimithi na lideratong ipatutupad ng walang pasubali ang mga repormang aayos ng ating bansa (I am confident we can finally achieve our dream of having a reform-oriented leader for the country because we have common and sincere desire for change in the country)."

Roxas thanked Kaya Natin! for extending him the invitation to join their selection process for the 2010 presidential elections as it firms up his own efforts including those of the Liberal Party which he heads to forge a united front among pro-reform groups in the country.

"I am willing to engage Kaya Natin! and all other reform groups so we can find ways to unite everyone who believes in the promise of change and a nation of worth which are the real issues in the 2010 elections. The values and causes we share in the growing reform constituency are much, much larger than any of us. We represent and fight for and share the struggle with the people," the Visayan senator said.

In fact, Roxas said, many leaders and groups within civil society and sectors are now actively working with him and the LP in making sure this united front becomes a reality to ensure victory for the pro-reform agenda in the 2010 elections.

"Natutuwa akong sumama na sa atin ang mga lider at grupo ng civil society at ng mga sektor sa pagpapalakas pa lalo ng kilusang reporma (I'm happy that the leaders and groups within civil society and sectors have joined me in our struggle for reforms)," he said.

Roxas said he will pursue relentlessly this effort to unite all the pro-reform groups for the 2010 elections so they could implement changes that will make lives better for the Filipino people.

"Hindi ko pababayaan na 'di natin matupad ang adhikaing magkaisa ang lahat ng nagnanais ng tunay na reporma (I will not stop until unity is achieved among all the pro-reform groups)," he said.
