Will not just laws needed in fighting pornography

The exhibition and distribution of pornographic materials - whether print, video or in any other form - is a crime. As it is, there are enough laws that could be used by the police, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Optical Media Board in going after the peddlers and disseminators of lewd materials.

But the question begging for an answer is: Are our law enforcement agencies really determined to fight pornography and other crimes related to it, or do they only act when something sensational grabs public attention like the lewd videos of this apparently disturbed doctor who has gained notoriety.

Nonetheless, how crimes are committed are ever-changing, thus the need for lawmakers to pass more laws or to update existing ones to make them more responsive to the times. Laws against voyeurism, among others, are being proposed and it is our job to pass them post-haste if they could stop pornography which pollutes and corrupts minds, especially of the young.
