GO NEGOSYO TEAM CITES VILLAR AS A GOOD EXAMPLE
TO YOUTH ENTREPRENEURS

Nacionalista President Sen. Manny Villar is one of the guests in Go Negosyo's Sigaw ng Kabataan Youth Entrepreneur Summit. Villar was cited by GoNegosyo head Joey Concepcion as a role model for Filipino youths and budding entrepreneurs.

Thankful for the citation, Villar reminded the youth entrepreneurs to espouse the virtue of "sipag at tiyaga" in order to succeed in their business ventures.

"It is only through hard work and perseverance that one can succeed. Entrepreneurship is also the way to go. It is a key driver of the economy," sid Villar.

Villar started his sand and gravel business with a capital of only P10,000. His business is now the biggest home building company in the country earning him the title as the Dean of the Housing Industry.

Prior to his elective position, he was referred to as the Brown Taipan, being the only Filipino included in the Forbes' list of RP's richest. Villar is also known as the Mister Entrepreneur.

The former Senate President also commended Joey Concepcion and the rest of the Go Negosyo team for encouraging more Filipinos to become entrepreneurs.

Some of the salient bills that Villar has filed in the Senate aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among Filipinos are:

*The Micro-Cottage Industries Act--that would mandate government to provide technical support to potential small and medium entrepreneurs as well as expand credit facilities.

*A bill that seeks to introduce entrepreneurship subjects in the curriculum of primary and secondary schools through the creation of the National Commission on Entrepreneurial Education.

*The Business One-Stop Shop or BOSS Center Act which would facilitate prospective businessmen to fulfill the documentary requirements of starting an enterprise.

*A bill that would grant non-tax incentives to countryside and barangay business enterprises with capitalization of less than 500-thousand pesos.
